Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join a multidisciplinary treatment team in Virginia. The LCSW will provide evidence-based clinical care to individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. This role requires strong clinical judgment, trauma-informed care practices, and a commitment to patient-centered recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care & Counseling:
Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
Deliver individual and group counseling services for patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) and co-occurring conditions.
Utilize ASAM criteria for determining appropriate patient placement and treatment levels.
Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
Prepare summaries, transition plans, and discharge documentation.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Adhere to federal and state regulatory standards, including HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, CARF, and Virginia Medicaid rules.
Care Coordination & Collaboration:
Coordinate care with other healthcare providers and community resources.
Collaborate with social service agencies and referral sources.
Participate in clinical supervision, case consultation, and team meetings.
Ethics & Professional Conduct:
Practice within the ethical standards established by NAADAC and the social work profession.
Demonstrate professionalism and emotional stability in high-pressure situations.
Support organizational goals and model core values through conduct and communication.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
Licensure:
Active and unrestricted LCSW license in the Commonwealth of Virginia .
Experience:
At least 2 years of experience working with individuals experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) models is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in ASAM criteria and diagnostic tools (e.g., DSM-5).
Knowledge of behavioral health best practices, community resources, and systems of care.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
Additional Requirements:
Maintain all required licensure and continuing education credits.
Working knowledge of applicable regulations and standards of care.
Successful completion of background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Occasional travel may be required.
Work Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Primarily office-based work with possible travel.
May involve physical activity such as lifting (30+ lbs), standing, and walking.
Must be able to communicate effectively and remain calm in emotionally intense situations.
Exposure to infectious materials may occur; adherence to Universal Precautions is mandatory.
