Job Description

As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol Officer in Newport News, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will regularly monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents. This armed post requires you to remain visible, provide exceptional customer service, and respond quickly to incidents as they arise. You'll engage with individuals onsite, support a secure environment, and represent Allied Universal's values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity. What You'll Do:

• Provide outstanding customer service while carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the manufacturing and industrial site, including the perimeter, to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor the environment for any unusual or suspicious activities and report findings according to Allied Universal protocols.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all activities, incidents, and/or security-related issues encountered during patrols.
• Collaborate closely with site personnel and/or local authorities as needed to address incidents or emergencies.
• Adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines for armed security-related responsibilities specific to the manufacturing and industrial setting.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• CPR Certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
