Overview

J&J Landscape Management is seeking an experienced Mowing Crew Leader to run a dedicated weekly mowing route. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on efficiency, consistency, and delivering clean, professional-looking properties.

This is a year-round position , with mowing during the growing season and transition to leaf removal, cleanups, and other seasonal services in the fall and winter.

The ideal candidate moves with urgency, leads by example, and takes pride in producing sharp, well-maintained properties every day.

Responsibilities

• Lead a mowing crew on a scheduled weekly route
• Perform and oversee mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing
• Ensure each property meets J&J quality standards before leaving
• Complete all route stops within budgeted man-hours
• Maintain consistent mowing patterns and professional lawn appearance
• Transition to leaf removal, cleanups, and seasonal services as needed
• Load, operate, and maintain commercial mowing equipment
• Conduct daily truck and equipment inspections
• Keep truck, trailer, and equipment clean and organized
• Train crew members on efficiency and proper techniques
• Communicate delays, issues, or property concerns to management

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mowing or landscape maintenance experience
• Prior crew leader experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of mowing patterns, heights, and turf care
• Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality
• Experience operating commercial mowers and equipment
• Valid driver’s license and ability to tow a trailer
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
