Construction Superintendent - Industrial Projects
As the Construction Superintendent, you will oversee skilled trades crews and manage onsite construction activities for a variety of large industrial projects, primarily in the Mid-Atlantic Region. These are mainly water/wastewater plant construction projects but may also include factories, production facilities, and data centers across diverse industries and clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Area Manager, Project Manager, and Project Engineers on the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the project.
- Supervise and lead several foremen to ensure work is conducted safely, productively, and with a focus on quality.
- Foster a 24/7 safety culture within your crews.
- Assist the Project Manager in creating the Primavera P6 project schedule.
- Develop 90-day and 3-week schedules for crews.
- Conduct pre-planning and goal-setting sessions with crews.
- Oversee costs associated with your work items.
- Coordinate manpower, heavy equipment, tooling, and material needs for crews.
- Schedule and coordinate subcontractors.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical experience progressing from Journeyman to Foreman to Superintendent.
- 6+ years of field management experience in similar construction projects.
- Understand and interpret safety laws and company policies/standards.
- Apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards, and their impact on project activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a team of varied self-performing trade disciplines.
- Proficiency in assembling 90-day and 3-week schedules in Microsoft Excel and using Microsoft Word for pre-planning processes.
- Ability to take responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.
