Quality Control Technician – Structural Steel Fabrication (Growth Opportunity)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our structural steel fabrication team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn, wants to build a long-term career in quality and operations, and is interested in growing into a leadership role over time.

This position works in a hands-on fabrication shop environment inspecting structural steel members, verifying measurements, and supporting our quality systems.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect fabricated structural steel members for dimensional accuracy
• Perform visual inspection of welds (training provided)
• Verify compliance with shop drawings and project specifications
• Record inspection results and maintain organized documentation
• Assist with tracking materials and maintaining inventory records
• Support internal quality audits and reporting
• Ability to use spreadsheets and software to enter, track, and analyze data
• Follow all company safety procedures and actively promote a safe work environment
• Work safely around heavy equipment and large steel assemblies

Qualifications:

• Experience reading construction or shop drawings preferred
• Strong computer skills (Excel or similar spreadsheet programs)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Highly detail-oriented and organized
• Comfortable working in an industrial shop environment
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and follow established safety procedures
• Forklift and heavy equipment operating experience is a plus
• Self-motivated with a desire to grow into increased responsibility

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday
• Work is performed in a structural steel fabrication shop and outdoor yard environment
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
• Must consistently adhere to all safety policies and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
