Overview

The Retail & Hospitality Information Sharing and Analysis Center (RH-ISAC) is the trusted community for sharing sector-specific cybersecurity information and intelligence. RH-ISAC connects information security teams at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels to work together on issues and challenges, share best practices and benchmark among each other – all with the goal of building better security for the retail and hospitality industries through collaboration. RH-ISAC serves retailers, restaurants, hotels, gaming casinos, travel, food retailers, consumer products and other consumer-facing companies.

The Business Intelligence & Data Science Analyst is responsible for designing, building, and advancing the organization’s analytics capabilities. This role combines business intelligence, data analysis, and emerging data science techniques to deliver scalable reporting, actionable insights, and automation across RH-ISAC operations.

The position owns the development of dashboards, data models, and analytics workflows, while also identifying opportunities to enhance insight generation through modern tools, including Power BI and AI-enabled capabilities such as Microsoft Copilot. The analyst partners with cross-functional teams to improve data quality, evolve reporting frameworks, and proactively support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics Development & Reporting

• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and scalable data models to support leadership and operational analytics
• Automate data ingestion, transformation, and refresh processes to ensure reliable, timely, and maintainable analytics delivery
• Enable and expand self-service analytics capabilities by developing reusable datasets, standardized reporting layers, and intuitive dashboards
• Deliver recurring and ad hoc reporting, scorecards, and actionable insights aligned to organizational priorities, including analysis of member participation, adoption, engagement, and impact.
• Apply advanced analytical techniques such as trend analysis, segmentation, and predictive modeling where appropriate
• Leverage AI-enabled tools (including Microsoft Copilot) to enhance analysis, automation, and insight generation

Data Engineering, Quality & Governance

• Develop and maintain data transformation logic using SQL, Power Query, or similar tools, and contribute to improvements in data architecture and system design
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and ongoing quality monitoring across systems
• Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, gaps, and structural issues
• Apply and evolve data definitions, taxonomies, and business logic to ensure consistency and usability across analytics outputs

Stakeholder Collaboration & Insight Delivery

• Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs, data requirements, and translate business needs into technical analytics solutions
• Identify trends, anomalies, patterns, and engagement indicators within data and communicate actionable insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Provide recurring and ad hoc reporting, dashboards, and analytics to internal teams, leadership, and other stakeholders to support strategic planning and operational decision-making.

IT & Security Tooling Support

• Assist with configuration, administration, and operational management of internal IT and cybersecurity tools
• Contribute to improving internal security controls and operational processes
• Draft and maintain technical documentation for systems, tools, and procedures

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform additional duties as needed to support RH-ISAC operations and its mission to strengthen member security and risk management capabilities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data analytics, data science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related technical roles
• Strong experience building dashboards and data models in Power BI (including DAX & Power Query)
• Proficiency in SQL and working with structured and semi-structured data
• Experience performing data validation, transformation, and analysis across multiple data sources
• Ability to translate data into clear visualizations and written insights for non-technical audiences
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work on recurring timelines

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience applying data science or advanced analytics techniques to real-world problems
• Familiarity with Python, R, or similar tools for data analysis and automation
• Experience working with Salesforce data, reporting, or analytics
• Experience integrating data from multiple systems and platforms
• Experience developing data warehousing strategies and implementation plans
• Familiarity with cloud-based data or analytics environments
• Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support analytics workflows
• Experience automating data processes and reporting workflows
• Exposure to cybersecurity, technology, or member-driven organizations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams in a matrixed environment
• A curious, detail-oriented, and dependable mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and bring a solutions-oriented approach to technical challenges
• A genuine desire and willingness to support teammates

Location and Work Environment:

• Location: Remote
• Work Environment: The employee is expected to maintain a dedicated, distraction-free home workspace with reliable internet connectivity. Regular collaboration will occur via video conferencing, chat, and other digital communication tools. The role requires virtual meetings across multiple time zones. While the position offers flexibility, standard core working hours based on you and your supervisor time zones will be established are expected for availability and team coordination

Employment Type:

• Full-Time, Exempt

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary Range: $85,000-105,000
• Benefits: The RH-ISAC offers full-time employees medical, dental, and vision insurance, a flexible savings account (FSA), a health saving account (HSA), and short-term disability plans. The RH-ISAC also offers a 401k plan with a matching contribution if you make a “matched employee contribution” during the plan year.
