What You'll Do
- Supervise yard employees in daily activities, including loading, staging, and material handling.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including proper PPE and equipment use.
- Oversee inventory accuracy and maintain organized storage areas.
- Coordinate with dispatch and production to ensure on-time delivery of products.
- Monitor yard equipment (e.g., forklifts, cranes) and ensure proper maintenance and safe operation.
- Train and develop employees on safe work practices and operational efficiency.
- Maintain documentation of yard operations, shipments, and inventory movements.
- Assist with process improvements to increase yard safety and productivity.
What You'll Need
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of material handling equipment and safe yard operations.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and adapt to changing demands.
- Attention to detail with strong recordkeeping abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with inventory or ERP systems preferred.
Your Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
