Urban Ltd provides full-service civil engineering, transportation engineering, land planning, landscape architecture, and surveying services to private and public sector clients throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

Accounting Assistant Manager

Urban is currently seeking a Staff Accountant with at least 5 years of direct accounting experience.

The successful candidates will be based in Annandale, VA.

This position is in the office, 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Assist and support accounts receivable (AR) processes, including invoicing, collections, and customer account reconciliation.
• Assist and support accounts payable (AP) functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments.
• Assist in reviewing and auditing employee timecards for accuracy and payroll readiness for the Accounting Director’s final sign-off.
• Reconcile corporate credit card statements, ensuring proper documentation and receipt match-up.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and maintain financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation, as requested by the Director of Accounting.
• Responding to Accounting Inquiries from those inside the organization.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, systems, and controls.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with HR / Operations and Leadership as needed.
• Support in special projects as instructed by the Director of Accounting.
