Financial Reporting - Accounting Analyst
We are looking for a detail-oriented Financial Reporting Analyst to join our client based in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will contribute to the preparation and analysis of financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with various departments across the organization to address complex accounting challenges and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as earnings releases and regulatory filings, with guidance from leadership and senior analysts.
• Create and review financial schedules, analyses, reconciliations, and journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Participate in special projects, including the implementation of new accounting standards or systems, while serving as a subject-matter expert in external reporting requirements.
• Conduct research on technical accounting issues and provide clear recommendations to management and other teams.
• Assist in supporting external audits by preparing schedules for reviews, annual audits, and compliance testing, while maintaining accurate process documentation.
• Collaborate with departments such as Investor Relations, Legal, Treasury, Tax, and Audit Services to ensure seamless reporting and compliance.
• Evaluate and interpret accounting policies to address technical and business-related challenges.
• Monitor developments in financial reporting regulations and guide the organization in adapting to changes.
• Contribute to maintaining accurate reporting processes and ensure adherence to internal controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.• CPA certification is mandatory, with Virginia licensure preferred.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in public accounting or corporate financial reporting, including exposure to regulatory reporting requirements.
• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory compliance standards.
• Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements, including SEC filings such as Form 10-K and Form 10-Q.
• Experience with financial tools such as Workiva and familiarity with general ledger processes.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
