ICU RN Job Details – Roanoke, VA

• Location: Roanoke, VA 24014 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2020 - $2070
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (option to extend up to 52 weeks)
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: November 24, 2025
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Setting: Resource Pool ICU/PCU – float to all ICU and PCU units as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience in a large hospital setting
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Preferred certifications: CPI, NIHSS
• Strong clinical skills: arterial line management, ventilator management, central/PICC line care, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, emergency medication administration, blood product administration
• Ability to float to all ICU and PCU units, potentially every 4 hours
• Previous charge nurse and Level I Trauma experience preferred
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients in ICU and PCU settings
• Float between ICU and PCU units based on hospital needs, adapting quickly to new teams and patient populations
• Manage patient ratios of 2:1 in ICU and 5:1 in PCU
• Perform advanced clinical skills including ventilator management, titration of drips, and emergency response
• Document care accurately and efficiently using EPIC
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training as required
• Work at least one holiday per 13-week assignment (two during winter holidays)
