General Laborer
Join a dedicated team providing essential grounds and landscape maintenance services at Hampton National Cemetery. Responsibilities
- Operate landscaping equipment such as weed-eaters, edgers, chain saws, pole saws, and loppers safely and efficiently
- Inspect and maintain equipment before and after use, including cleaning and refueling as needed
- Trim grass, weeds, and trees, especially in areas not accessible by mowers
- Maintain clear and tidy edges along sidewalks, driveways, and flower beds
- Remove leaves, debris, trash, and fallen limbs from grounds to ensure cleanliness and safety
- Blow debris from roads and sidewalks to maintain a neat appearance
- Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures, and promptly report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including rain, cold, and extreme heat
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in landscape, grounds, or tree removal work (personal lawn care does not qualify)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks outdoors
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Professional, well-groomed appearance
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Compensation
$22.68 per hour
