As a Store Team Member , you deliver exceptional, neighborly service while helping pets and their people live happier lives. From puppy kisses to curious cat parents, no two days are ever the same!

What You’ll Do

Provide outstanding service while engaging with neighbors and their pets throughout the day, including:

• Helping a neighbor choose the perfect chew toy for a toy‑destroying terrier
• Comparing ingredient labels to assist a concerned cat parent
• Fitting a squirmy dachshund with the perfect harness
• Educating a sixth grader on responsible bird ownership
• Stocking shelves and ringing up purchases
• Feeding our in‑store animals and keeping habitats clean and comfortable
• Smiling—even in the face of puppy breath

Areas You May Specialize In

While all team members support one another, you may focus on one or more of the following areas:

Cashier

• Process transactions accurately and efficiently
• Share information about the Preferred Pet Club so neighbors don’t miss exclusive savings

Stocker

• Safely unload delivery trucks using proper equipment
• Stock shelves to ensure pets get their favorite food and treats
• Assist neighbors by carrying items such as pet food, cat litter, aquariums, and more to their vehicles

Pet Care

• Care for in‑store pets, including feeding, cleaning habitats, and handling animals
• Answer questions about pet care and help neighbors find or maintain the right pet

What We’re Looking For

• Passion for pets and people
• Ability to lift 40–65 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Desire to learn about animals and products (we support learning through our Pet Degree pay‑for‑knowledge program )
• Team player mentality—ready to jump in and help when needed

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Must pass a drug and background screening
• Reliable transportation to Richmond, VA 23229
• Ability to relocate to Richmond, VA 23229 prior to starting (required)

Preferred Experience

• 2 years of customer service experience (preferred)
