As the Clinical Director at Wildwood Recovery Center, you will oversee all clinical operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based treatment services. You will provide leadership and direction to the clinical team, ensuring programs are effective, client-centered, and aligned with the organization’s mission. The Clinical Director will also play a key role in developing and implementing clinical policies and procedures, supervising staff, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. This role requires a compassionate and highly skilled leader with a deep understanding of addiction recovery, behavioral health, and trauma-informed care.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Leadership & Staff Supervision
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to counselors, therapists, case managers, and other clinical staff within the program.
  • Ensure clinical staff maintain appropriate licensure, certifications, and professional standards.
  • Conduct regular supervision sessions, case consultations, and staff meetings to support quality clinical care.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and onboarding of clinical staff.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to clinical staff while promoting a trauma-informed and recovery-oriented treatment environment.
2. Program Oversight & Treatment Services
  • The Clinical Director will maintain a clinical caseload or up to 12 clients and group facilitation responsibilities during program startup, transitioning toward primarily supervisory and program oversight duties as census increases over time.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinical programming for residential treatment services.
  • Ensure treatment services align with ASAM level of care guidelines, evidence-based practices, and program policies.
  • Monitor treatment planning, assessments, progress notes, and discharge planning to ensure quality and consistency of care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and support coordination of care across clinical, medical, and residential departments.
  • Ensure clients receive appropriate individual, group, and family services consistent with treatment goals.
3. Quality Assurance, Documentation & Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure clinical documentation meets requirements for DBHDS, Medicaid, Joint Commission, and payer standards.
  • Review clinical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, program evaluations, and outcome monitoring.
  • Assist with audits, licensing reviews, accreditation surveys, and regulatory inspections.
  • Review incident reports, client grievances, and clinical concerns and implement corrective actions when necessary.
4. Coordination, Communication & Program Development
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director, Nursing staff, and Residential leadership to ensure integrated client care.
  • Communicate regularly with admissions staff regarding clinical appropriateness of referrals and level-of-care decisions.
  • Coordinate with community providers, referral partners, and external agencies to support continuity of care and discharge planning.
  • Assist leadership in developing new programming, policies, and clinical service improvements.
  • Promote a safe, ethical, and recovery-focused treatment environment throughout the program.

Requirements: Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field (required).
  • Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or equivalent (required).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a clinical or supervisory role within addiction treatment or behavioral health services.
  • Certification in Addiction Counseling or equivalent (preferred).
  • Training in trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based practices (preferred).
Skills and Abilities Needed for Success
  • Ability to supervise and mentor clinical staff while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
  • Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, staff, and community partners.
  • Proficiency in managing clinical documentation and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Strong knowledge of substance use disorder treatment and co-occurring mental health conditions.

  • Ability to review clinical documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Ability to analyze clinical trends and support program quality improvement initiatives.
