Resicum International LLC is seeking highly qualified F/A-18 Ordnance / CDI / QASO / Egress Technicians to support organizational-level maintenance operations for the U.S. Navy's VFC-12 squadron at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia.

This position is designed for experienced Aircraft Mechanic III personnel who possess specialized qualifications in one or more of the following areas: Ordnance, Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI), Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR), Quality Assurance Safety Observer (QASO), or Aircraft Egress Systems . The successful candidate will perform advanced organizational-level maintenance while ensuring compliance with Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) requirements, Quality Assurance standards, and established safety procedures to maintain maximum aircraft readiness.

Position Summary

The F/A-18 Ordnance / CDI / QASO / Egress Technician performs advanced organizational-level aircraft maintenance and inspections while providing specialized technical expertise within their designated qualification(s). This position supports aircraft launch and recovery operations, conducts quality inspections, performs troubleshooting and repairs, maintains maintenance documentation, and ensures all maintenance actions comply with Navy maintenance procedures and quality assurance standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced organizational-level maintenance on F/A-18 aircraft.
  • Perform duties within one or more specialty qualifications, including Ordnance, CDI, CDQAR, QASO, or Aircraft Egress Systems.
  • Conduct Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) inspections following aircraft maintenance actions.
  • Perform inspections, operational checks, troubleshooting, and maintenance of aircraft ordnance and associated systems, as qualified.
  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft egress systems in accordance with applicable technical publications, as qualified.
  • Ensure compliance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP), Quality Assurance procedures, and established safety standards.
  • Support aircraft launch, recovery, servicing, and flight line operations.
  • Troubleshoot aircraft mechanical systems and correct maintenance discrepancies within assigned specialty.
  • Review and interpret maintenance publications, technical manuals, engineering drawings, and technical directives.
  • Document maintenance actions using Navy maintenance documentation systems and ensure aircraft logs and records are complete and accurate.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Control, Production Control, and Quality Assurance personnel to support aircraft maintenance scheduling and mission readiness.
  • Maintain compliance with Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention, Tool Control Program (TCP), hazardous material handling, and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Utilize specialized aircraft maintenance tools, test equipment, and support equipment.
  • Support surge operations, contingency maintenance, and temporary duty assignments as required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
  • Ability to climb ladders, aircraft stands, and maintenance platforms.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and around operating aircraft.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and work overhead for extended periods.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements:

Job Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years of organizational-level aircraft maintenance experience on F/A-18 aircraft or comparable tactical military aircraft.
  • Current or previous qualification as one or more of the following:
    • Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI)
    • Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR)
    • Quality Assurance Safety Observer (QASO)
    • Ordnance Technician
    • Aircraft Egress Technician
  • Thorough knowledge of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) and Navy Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Experience performing aircraft inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance documentation.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, maintenance publications, engineering drawings, and technical directives.
  • Experience performing inspections following maintenance actions to ensure aircraft safety and airworthiness.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft ordnance systems, egress systems, and associated safety procedures (as applicable to specialty qualification).
  • Experience supporting flight line operations, including launch, recovery, and aircraft servicing.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and temporary duty assignments as mission requirements dictate.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required installation access credentials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Former U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18 maintainer.
  • Previous VFA or VFC squadron experience.
  • Current or previous CDQAR designation.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
  • Previous experience supporting Department of Defense aviation maintenance contracts.
