Emergency Room RN Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1910–$1960
• Location: Danville, VA 24541 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Facility: 250-bed academic community hospital
• Department: Emergency Room (ER) – 31 beds, 2 triage rooms
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens / travel nursing contract
• Start Date: August 19, 2025
• End Date: November 18, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), rotating weekends
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Patient Ratio: 1:4 (may vary)
• Electronic Health Record: MedHost (ED), Meditech (admit holds, behavioral health)
• Dress Code: Scrub color of your choice

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or compact state)
• Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS or ENPC (Handle with Care can be completed on-site)
• Professional, positive, compassionate, and strong team player
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Must reside at least 60 miles from Danville, VA, to qualify as a travel nurse
• Successful completion of all pre-employment screenings

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting
• Assess, triage, and manage acute and behavioral health patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document care in MedHost and Meditech EHR systems
• Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing professional development
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient clinical environment
