This program specifically focuses on helping younger adults transition out of a day program setting into a meaningful, sustainable job opportunity. As a Community Employment Coordinator, you will get to:

    Job Summary Develop and maintain positive and collaborative partnerships with employers for the purposes of creating meaningful work experiences for program participants. Learn about the interest areas, strengths, and support needs of participants to determine the best locations for work experiences. Partner with the entire Employment Readiness team to ensure the work experience locations are a good fit for the needs of the individuals in the program. Complete documentation in compliance with all requirements of funding partners and regulatory bodies. Primary Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.
    • Survey and research local businesses and use business data and statistics to assist with the identification of possible employer partners for work experience locations and permanent employment opportunities.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with new and current employer partners; present overview of program; and confirm employers who move forward with becoming a work experience site.
    • Work with the Employment Readiness Team to ensure the work experience sites and permanent employment opportunities are good fits for the interests, skills, and needs of the individuals in the program.
    • Maintain positive partnerships with all members of the participants' support teams and other relevant internal and external programs, resources, community partners and employers to support the success of individuals in the program. Ensure that the current employers participating in the program are satisfied with their role and address any concerns that arise.
    • Complete all required documentation and planning. Maintain familiarity with all regulatory requirements, funding partners, and CARF and ensure compliance with such regulations.
    Additional Responsibilities
    • Complete all required documentation accurately, thoroughly, and timely. Contribute to case files to ensure their compliance with CARF and other regulatory bodies' standards.
    • Collect required outcome data and analyze to determine success of program. Conduct focus groups and satisfaction surveys with employers regarding their satisfaction with participation as a work experience site.
    • Provide consultation, guidance, and disability awareness training to employers and educational program representatives to foster positive partnerships
    • Participate in Person-Centered Planning (PCP) process and other meetings pertaining to the participant's outcomes and support activities.
    • Communicate regularly with both internal and external directors, supervisors, rehabilitation counselors, support coordinators, families, significant others and/or any other relevant individuals regarding all employment readiness activities and progress of participant with career exploration, soft skills building and work experiences.
    • Provide support in areas of program design, development, and implementation.
    • Transport participants to employment settings for tours and work experiences. Frequent local travel, particularly but not exclusively, in all areas of Fairfax County, Prince William, Alexandria, and Arlington.
    • Ensure that the vocational and non-vocational needs of the individuals served are being met. Provide holistic and person-centered services. Be aware of and respond accordingly to any any health and safety needs, including physical health, mental health, accommodations needed in a group setting, etc. Maintain familiarity with Behavior Intervention techniques. Provide counseling and crisis intervention support.
    • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
    Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)
    • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, Marketing, or another related field preferred.
    • One (1) year of related experience can be substituted for one year of education.
    • One (1) year experience working with people with disabilities in a supported employment setting required.
    • Understanding of supported employment and customized employment techniques required.
    • Experience networking and conducting community outreach and building partnerships with community organizations and employers required.
    • Valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation to perform work-related travel required. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR). Must be eligible to be covered under the ServiceSource driver's insurance. Must pass the On-line Driving training, if eligible to drive.
    • Willingness and availability to travel in Northern Virginia required.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • A high-energy, creative, compassionate, and organized self-starter, leader, and team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent marketing and outreach skills, particularly with community employers.
    • A phenomenal communicator and presenter. Excellent oral, presentation, public speaking, and writing skills. Ability to respond effectively and respectfully to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to complete accurate and thorough daily notes and create and follow person-centered plans.
    • An individual who can relate to people at all levels of ServiceSource, partner organizations, and community employers
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Must have knowledge of employment transition, supported employment, and job training issues for persons with disabilities.
    • Knowledge of behavior intervention and crisis intervention counseling techniques and principles
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents.
    • Requires knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, and email navigation with the ability to demonstrate and teach these skills to participants during job development and job coaching.
