ICU Nurse Job Details

• Location: Norfolk, VA 23507 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Advanced Heart Failure ICU
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: December 16, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia RN jobs preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience; Advanced Heart Failure experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to adapt quickly to new healthcare environments and protocols

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in the Advanced Heart Failure ICU
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and operate advanced critical care equipment
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and ongoing healthcare needs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and healthcare policies
