Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is seeking experienced Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized instruction to K-12 students across multiple locations. This part-time role requires 15 hours per week, spread over two flexible days. The position is itinerant, covering four locations within the area, and is strictly in-person, making it ideal for candidates comfortable with travel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and support students with visual impairments to enhance their educational outcomes.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers.
• Utilize specialized teaching strategies and tools to facilitate student learning.
• Travel regularly between assigned school locations within the district.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) credential required.
• Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments.
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel between locations as needed.

Location: Christiansburg, VA area (serving multiple schools)

Job Details:

• Contract position for the current school year (CSY)
• Part-time, 15 hours per week
• Flexible scheduling within two days weekly
• In-person service delivery only; virtual instruction is not suitable for this role.
