AR Manager
Position Title: Accounts Receivable Manager
Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid)
Assignment type: Permanent Hire
Compensation: $80,000 – $115,000 / year
Work Schedule: M–F, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to oversee full-cycle AR operations within a growing, multi-entity organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage high transaction volume, and partners closely with operations and finance teams to drive collections performance and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day full-cycle accounts receivable operations across multiple entities
• Lead high-volume collections efforts, including client calls, emails, and account follow-ups
• Monitor AR aging and proactively resolve outstanding balances and discrepancies
• Partner with operations teams to address disputes and ensure required documentation is submitted for payment
• Coordinate regular meetings with internal stakeholders to review delinquencies, collection strategies, and process improvements
• Collaborate with billing, finance, and operational teams to streamline AR and collections workflows
• Perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations between accounting and AR systems
• Oversee preparation of AR reporting, KPIs, and summaries for leadership review
• Manage client payment platforms and applications to ensure timely receipt of funds
• Prepare lien documentation and releases as needed
• Monitor AR automation tools and coordinate with technical support to resolve system issues
• Support legal-related AR matters and external correspondence when necessary
• Maintain organized documentation and assist with special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of full-cycle accounts receivable and collections experience
• Proven ability to manage high-volume activity and meet collection targets
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Intermediate Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis
• Experience using accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms
• Strong communication skills with the ability to handle difficult collection conversations professionally
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and drive solutions in a growing organization
• Preferred:
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• Experience with AR automation or collections management tools
• Background working in multi-entity or project-based environments
