Post Doctoral Research Associate
Summary
The Post Doctoral Research Associate position conducts research under the general oversight of a faculty supervisor who serves as a mentor, supporting the research in preparation for a career position in academe, industry, government, or the nonprofit sector. Following is a list of general responsibilities associated with the Post Doctoral Research Associate position:
A. Collaborate with other research and extension personnel affiliated with research activities involving computer vision, 3D imagery, machine learning, AI, and robotics. The research scientist is expected to engage in research activities and outreach activities, such as:
1. Publications that acknowledge the research scientist's significant and meaningful contribution to the work.
2. Active dissemination of information (beyond the boundaries of the campus) through informal instruction, presentations of research at regional/national meetings, publications on which the research scientist is an author, or other means stemming from the research scientist's research accomplishments.
B. Participate in appropriate professional/technical societies or groups and other educational and research organizations.
C. Review research or grant proposals, journal manuscripts, and publications related to the area of expertise.
D. May liaise with and respond to the needs of various industry organizations, state and federal agencies, and other external groups on issues related to the project or, with the approval of the PI supervisor, other activities aligned with the research scientist’s area of expertise.
F. Participate in activities of committees within the department, college, campus and other University entities, as appropriate and with PI supervisory approval.Job Responsibilities:

Education and/or training: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related field.
Level and type ofexperience: recent PhD. graduate and demonstrate hands-on experience with vision foundation models, spatial reasoning, and physics-informed modeling or simulators
Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities: Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and C++;

As part of our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws, the Research Foundation includes a good-faith salary range in all job postings. These ranges represent the expected hiring range for the position, not the full compensation band.
Final salary offers may vary depending on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and budget availability. The anticipated salary range for this position is $60,000 – $70,000 annually.
