Electrical Maintenance Technician (Up To 35/hr)
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all mechanical maintenance, minor electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for the facility. The position is also responsible for assisting in small or large project work as requested.
Responsibilities
- Perform the required preventative maintenance activities listed in the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software to maintain corporate assets and prevent unexpected breakdowns.
- Perform required repairs to equipment upon an unexpected breakdown in the timeliest manner.
- Install parts, modify, rebuild, or construct new equipment per instruction of the maintenance supervisor or as requested in the CMMS.
- Review, complete, and update entries in the CMMS.
- Assist engineers in capital project work as requested.
- Perform a daily inspection of the equipment to prevent unexpected failures.
- Order and maintain supplies and spare parts for assigned equipment.
- Keep the maintenance area clean and organized and tools in good working order.
- Maintain Forklift license as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department.
- Experience with machinery and repair required.
- Knowledge of precision measuring equipment required.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment including safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
- Correctable eyesight required.
- Comfortable working around moving equipment.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, forward-reaching, above shoulder reaching, and twisting.
- Occasional kneeling, crawling, and balancing.
- Ability to work in confined spaces occasionally.
- Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
- Dexterity manipulation required for use of hand tools and light equipment.
- Ability to push/pull material using hand cart or pallet jack.
- Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs. Occasional lifting up to 60 lbs. Infrequent lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Moderate exposure to temperature change in a non-climate-controlled environment with the potential of working near heated processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CHESAPEAKE, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
