Compensation

Job Details

• Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Blue Ridge Mountain area)
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Room / Level II Trauma Center
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (4/7/2026 – 7/4/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (48 hrs/week)
• Schedule: Must work every other weekend
• Start Dates: 4/7/2026 or 4/20/2026 (Orientation every other Monday)
• Contract Type: Travel contract / travel nursing job

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience with Level II or Level I trauma experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required (ER travel nurse experience preferred)
• Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license (required at time of submission)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (or equivalent trauma certification such as ATCN/ATLS)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Cerner EMR experience strongly preferred (experience with electronic medical records/EMR systems)
• Must be able to work every other weekend
• Locals within 60 miles are not accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency and trauma care to patients in a busy ED
• Rapidly assess, triage, and manage acute and critical care situations in a Level II Trauma Center
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary nursing staff
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR and follow hospital charting standards
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, trauma protocols, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in orientation, unit training, and continuing education as required
