Cardiac Cath Lab RN Job Details

• Location: Fredericksburg, VA 22401 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Setting: Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (3 advanced labs, recently renovated)
• Assignment Duration: 13-week contract (September 23, 2025 – December 23, 2025)
• Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (07:00 – 17:30), Monday–Friday, with on-call rotation including weekends and holidays
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,320 - $2,380
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Daily Census: 12–18 cardiac cases per day
• Charting: EPIC and XPER electronic health record systems
• Scrubs: Provided by facility

Cath Lab Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Virginia or compact state RN license (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac or critical care nursing experience required; prior experience in cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology preferred
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
• Previous community hospital experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Ability to float within scope to support facility needs, including medical assignments and emergency department (ED) for medical holds
• First-time travel nurses welcome to apply

Cath Lab RN Responsibilities

• Circulate, monitor, and scrub for a variety of cardiac catheterization lab procedures
• Manage high-volume, high-acuity cardiac cases including STEMI, TAVR, Watchman, CardiomeMs, carotid interventions, Impella, CTO, peripheral vascular, TEVAR/EVAR
• Operate advanced Cath Lab equipment including Philips imaging systems, Medrad, and manifold injectors
• Accurately document all procedures using EPIC and XPER EHR systems
• Participate in on-call rotation, covering weekends and holidays as needed
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team of RNs and Cath Lab Technologists in a supportive, team-oriented environment
• Float to other nursing units within scope as required
