Job Title: Service Technician
Job Description

As a Service Technician, you will play a vital role in the maintenance and repair of large drilling equipment and foundation piling equipment. You will report to the Service Manager, and your primary duties will include the assembly, disassembly, and repair of various components such as hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and structural components. Additionally, you will perform diagnostic testing, write service reports, and handle parts requisitions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble components and accessories on large drilling and piling equipment.
• Machine and fabricate steel components using hand tools and power-driven tools.
• Perform diagnostic testing to isolate and identify mechanical problems.
• Write detailed service reports and complete parts order requisitions.
• Operate forklift trucks, overhead cranes, and other heavy equipment.
• Complete repairs and preventative maintenance on drilling and pile driving equipment within required timeframes.
• Perform minor repairs at jobsite locations when necessary.
• Notify Service Manager of suspected customer damage and complete quality control service tags.
• Check in and check-out rental equipment, ensuring it is clean and ready for use.

• Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with hydraulics and CAN-bus wiring systems.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and use of hand tools.

• Experience working with heavy equipment, particularly CAT and Bauer models.
• Previous exposure to ground support equipment.

Work Environment

Work in a climate-controlled bay with a laid-back atmosphere. Some duties may require travel or work on the road.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of King George, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $35.00/hr.
