Position Summary
Lead People. Build Processes. Organize for Scale. The ITAD Operations Manager is the operational heartbeat of Securis’ IT Asset Disposition operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for transforming the processing floor into a highly organized, efficient, and scalable operation. This leader thrives in a fast-paced production environment and takes pride in structure, clarity, and discipline. You will be accountable for developing and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), implementing 5S methodologies, and building the training, safety protocols, and workflows that allow technicians to perform at a high level, consistently and safely. The right candidate spends most of their time on the floor, leading by example, coaching in real time, and continuously improving how work gets done. You balance people leadership with operational rigor, data-driven decision-making, and close collaboration with Sales, Resale, and Logistics to maximize recovery value and support company growth.Key Responsibilities
1. Process Architecture, SOP Development & Management
- Develop, document, implement, and manage SOPs for all processing activities, including receiving, sorting, testing, data sanitization, and disposition.
- Create detailed process documentation such as flowcharts, checklists, and work instructions to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance.
- Own process change management: when workflows change, you retrain the team, update documentation, and ensure adoption on the floor.
- Continuously evaluate and refine processes to improve throughput, reduce errors, and support scaling operations.
- Partner with Sales and Resale teams to quickly understand how changes in customer demand, market conditions, or downstream value impact internal operations and processing priorities.
2. 5S, Floor Organization & Inventory Control
- Serve as the 5S Champion for the facility (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Eliminate clutter and unnecessary materials to maintain a clean, safe, and professional workspace.
- Establish clearly labeled locations for tools, pallets, inventory, and workstations.
- Implement visual management systems (floor markings, signage, color coding, shadow boards) to reduce search time and errors.
- Ensure alignment between physical inventory and ERP records through disciplined organization, cycle counting, and audits.
- Create and enforce audit routines to sustain organizational standards over time.
3. Hands-On Team Leadership & Staff Development
- Lead and develop a team of 6–8 processing technicians, spending the majority of your time on the production floor.
- Coach technicians side-by-side, modeling expectations for pace, quality, safety, and professionalism.
- Develop staff through structured onboarding, ongoing training, cross-training, and performance feedback.
- Build and maintain a skills matrix to identify knowledge gaps and ensure coverage across all processing functions.
- Conduct hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and corrective action as needed.
- Foster a culture of High Standards, Low Ego, where team members are encouraged to contribute improvement ideas while executing with discipline.
4. Safety, Compliance & Integrity
- Champion a culture of safety, both physical and psychological, where employees are empowered to stop work if a hazard is identified.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, NIST, DoD, environmental, and customer security requirements.
- Maintain clear documentation and audit readiness for all processing and data sanitization activities.
- Protect Securis’ reputation by reinforcing integrity, accountability, and proper chain-of-custody practices at all times.
5. Metrics, Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Track and report key operational metrics including throughput, cycle time, labor efficiency, and value recovery.
- Translate operational data into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Resale, Logistics, and Leadership to align operational execution with company-wide growth objectives.
- Support strategic initiatives that improve scalability, profitability, and employee engagement.
Qualifications
Required Experience & Education
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams in a production, warehousing, logistics, technical repair, or ITAD environment.
- Proven experience developing, managing, enforcing, and evolving SOPs and operational processes.
- Demonstrated success leading frontline teams and developing staff through coaching and training.
- Hands-on experience implementing Lean, 5S, or similar operational organization methodologies.
- Familiarity with IT hardware (laptops, desktops, servers) strongly preferred; ITAD experience is a plus but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Hands-On Operational Leadership: Leads from the floor, not the desk; solves problems in real time and drives execution.
- Process Development & Management: Comfortable both creating SOPs and enforcing, auditing, and improving them.
- The Organizer Mindset: Naturally driven to reduce clutter, improve flow, and create order.
- Teacher & Coach: Able to explain not just what to do, but why it matters.
- Analytical & Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using Google Workspace and learning ERP/WMS systems quickly.
- Organizational Agility: Manages multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and discipline.
- Physical Agility: Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and move actively throughout the warehouse.
Our Core Focus and Values: At Securis, our Core Focus is to serve employees, clients, and vendors like Jesus served His People. Our Core Values guide everything we do:
- Helps First: Put the team first.
- Fun: Have the right attitude and stay positive.
- Hungry: Have big goals and want to conquer the world.
- Humbly Confident: Be humble and also be confident.
- Work-Life Harmony: Both are important and must be in balance.
- Coachable: Always learning.
- Innovative: Question everything. Look for new ways.
Benefits - We offer a competitive compensation package, including:
- Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance
- 401(k) Plan
- Value Sharing Plan
- Eight (8) Paid Holidays
- Three (3) weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO)
