Do you love coaching teams, solving equipment issues on the fly, and turning data into better outcomes? Are GMPs, HACCP, and Lean part of your everyday vocabulary? If so, this role puts you at the center of safety, quality, and output for our metal packaging operations.

What you’ll do
  • Direct day-to-day operations: scheduling, time & attendance, and policy/procedure documentation for your crew.
  • Set the bar on safety and join the Safety Committee to continuously improve safe work practices.
  • Guard product quality by watching visual/dimensional checks, reviewing production trends, and acting fast with Quality Control.
  • Be the equipment expert: troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide relief coverage for breaks.
  • Lead Lean Six Sigma projects; embed 5S, TPM, SMED, and 8D thinking to reduce waste and cost.
  • Train, coach, assess, mentor, and—when needed—discipline team members; build a culture aligned with Ardagh Core Values.
  • Ensure full compliance with Food Safety Policy, GMPs, and HACCP principles.
  • Execute PMs and repairs; support new equipment installs and overhauls.
  • Complete CVP (quality system) surveillance checks; maintain housekeeping schedules and audits.
  • Own reporting and materials control: production, HFI, downtime, MRO; keep critical parts stocked.
  • Collaborate with Process Technical Manager, Quality Manager, Logistics, and peers to resolve issues and elevate performance.

  • Mechanical/electrical aptitude and logical problem solving.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel and customers.
  • Lean manufacturing familiarity and a positive, can-do approach.
  • Willingness to work all shifts, including 12-hour patterns, days/off-shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Background that helps
  • Associate degree in a related field or 5+ years as a manufacturing lead/supervisor covering hiring, reviews, counseling, training, and development.
  • Comfort measuring performance to goals/standards and driving continuous improvement.
  • Proven success guiding technicians and cross-functional teams.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of mechanical/electrical experience in manufacturing; metal manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Kaizen / Lean Six Sigma training and hands-on exposure.
Technology

Strong with Microsoft applications and common production reporting systems.

  • Frequent use of hands; good hand/eye coordination; ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Vision needs include close/distance vision and color recognition.
  • Average weekly hours: 40 or 36/48 alternating; shifts are typically 8 or 12 hours.

Compensation

Salary Range: $82,000 - $103,000 (good-faith estimate based on the expected scope of the role and internal equity considerations).
