IT Engineer Data (Security)

Location: Vienna, VA (Hybrid)

Duration: Long-term

Position Overview

Client is seeking a skilled IT Engineer Data (Security) to join its Information Security Department, supporting the Infosec PMO Technology Projects. This role will focus on developing advanced analytics solutions using Power BI and Databricks to track departmental goals, project statuses, and operational metrics. Additionally, the engineer will help establish governance models and manage workspace environments to ensure data security and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Lead analytics initiatives to uncover insights and drive strategic decisions.

Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, dataflows, pipelines, and apps.

Administer Power BI and Databricks workspaces with a focus on security and consistency.

Automate data ingestion and pipeline orchestration using Python and other tools.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable reports.

Support Agile ceremonies and backlog refinement as needed.

Prepare presentations and reports using Power BI, Azure DevOps, and MS Office.

Perform data querying, forecasting, and statistical analysis.

Construct custom API calls using Postman and Power BI.

Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Conduct demos and presentations across various organizational levels.

Required Qualifications

Power BI: 8+ years

Databricks: 5+ years

Python Scripting: 5+ years

Azure DevOps: 3+ years

SharePoint: 3+ years

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Azure Databricks

Background in Information Security

Familiarity with Agile methodologies

Degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience)

Proficiency with Microsoft Teams for video conferencing

Preferred Certifications

Databricks Data Engineer Associate/Professional

Power BI Data Analyst Associate
