Java Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer for a Contract job with a client in McLean, VA . The ideal candidate must have experience with strong expertise in Advanced Java Concepts, MongoDB, and AWS . The role involves developing cloud-native applications and event-based systems using modern frameworks and tools.

Rate Range: $53.03/hour to $56.82/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Java Developer job responsibilities include:

• Design and develop scalable applications using Advanced Java and Spring Boot.

• Build microservices with GraphQL and integrate with event-based systems.

• Work within AWS environments including EC2, Lambda, and EMR.

• Implement data solutions using MongoDB, RDBMS, and NoSQL.

• Develop streaming solutions using Kafka (nice to have).

• Use Flyway for database versioning and Jenkins for CI/CD.

• Collaborate using Git, Bitbucket, and other DevOps tools.

• Monitor and optimize performance using Spark and AWS EMR.

• Apply security and infrastructure best practices in cloud deployments.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 8–10 years of experience in Java development and cloud technologies.

• Hands-on experience with MongoDB, AWS, Spring Boot, and GraphQL.

• Familiarity with Kafka, Flyway, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Spark, and EMR.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work in Agile DevOps environments and provide technical leadership.

Pay Details: $53.03 to $56.82 per hour
