Breakdown Coordinator

RCS Trucking & Freight is seeking a highly motivated maintenance and Road Service Coordinator to help support with our maintenance and road support function of our company. The ideal candidate will have excellent communications skills and attention to detail. This position is based in Bealeton VA with hours from 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday. You will be required to rotate the 24hr on-call maintenance line.

Job Purpose

Responsible for assisting the fleet manager with fleet maintenance and road services. The department supports RCS Trucking & Freight's company and independent drivers, and RCS Trucking & Freights equipment during in shop repairs, vender repairs and breakdowns, and other events away from home terminal. Providing high quality service maximizing equipment up time and controlling costs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinating and schedule upcoming preventative maintenance on equipment on the road and in house, keeping operations up to date on those services needed weekly & daily
• Maintain calendar and scheduling repairs in house
• Documenting actions by completing records and maintaining paperwork for all services
• Driver communication, gathering feedback on equipment and on drivers concerns ensuring to record any needed information
• Promptly answer incoming calls from drivers, gather necessary information, to assist with repairs and drivers need
• Quickly resolve equipment issues related to tires, breakdowns, repairs, and roadside assistance to ensure quality and safety of those repairs, minimize cost, and maximize equipment utilization.
• Locating appropriate vendors closest to the breakdown to ensure minimum wait time, competitive pricing, and quality repairs to minimize cost
• Maintain daily contact with drivers and vendors to ensure the repairs will be completed quickly and updating operations on those repairs
• Negotiating and making decisions on pricing on repair work
• Review paperwork received from drivers
• Tracking repair & parts cost, verifying notes and labor on invoices both on the road and in house
• Tracking and maintaining road and vender repairs
• Follow up phone calls with drivers after services and/or repairs for feedback and ensuring request has been met and repairs made adequately
• Miscellaneous departmental duties as needed

Education &/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior related mechanical and road support experience preferred, but willing to train the correct person

Pay: based of experience

· $18.00 - $24.00 hour

· Monthly 24hr bonus for carrying Road Service Phone
