• Location: Charlottesville, VA 22908 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Hospital – Interventional Radiology Unit
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: December 2, 2025
• Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (08:00 – 18:30)
• On-Call: One weekday every 2-3 weeks and one weekend every 2 months (30-minute response time; priority parking during call)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2620-$2690

Qualifications – Interventional Radiology Technologist Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech) in a Level I trauma center
• Active ARRT (R) certification; ARRT Advanced Certification preferred
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Valid Virginia state radiology license (pending accepted, must be in hand by Wednesday before start; temporary authorization accepted)
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Experience with high-acuity, tertiary care patients
• Ability to float to OR suites within scope of practice
• Professional references required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility

Primary Responsibilities – Interventional Radiology Tech

• Perform a comprehensive range of interventional radiology procedures: angioplasty, cardiac stent placement, carotid stenting, catheter/drain exchange, chest tube placement, embolization, ERCP, gastrostomy tube placement, IVC filter placement, nephrostomy, paracentesis, percutaneous stone extraction, radioembolization, renal artery stent placement, thoracentesis, extremity angiography, and ureteral stent placement
• Assist with specialized procedures: biliary, nephrostomy, cystostomy tube insertions and maintenance, central venous access, dialysis fistulas, oncology procedures, TIPS & BRTOs, vascular interventions, venous thrombolysis, stent grafts (including aortic alert response), PCNL, TACE
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment (Siemens, PACS, Philips ultrasound preferred)
• Deliver patient care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
• Float to OR suites as needed
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond within 30 minutes when on call
• Accurately document procedures and patient information in Epic
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity hospital environment
