Position Summary:

We’re looking for a reliable, skilled Residential Electrician to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical systems in residential homes. You’ll interact directly with homeowners and represent the Coates name with professionalism, courtesy, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades in residential settings
• Install panels, breakers, lighting, outlets, smart devices, and other fixtures
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and code specifications
• Diagnose electrical issues and provide effective, code-compliant solutions
• Communicate clearly with customers about job status, options, and recommendations
• Maintain clean, safe work environments and follow all safety protocols
• Document work performed and materials used accurately

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Virginia journeyman or master electrician license (or actively working toward it)
• 2+ years of hands-on residential electrical experience
• Strong working knowledge of NEC and local code requirements
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Professional appearance and strong communication skills
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with service upgrades, generator installs, or whole-home rewires
• Familiarity with smart home systems and low-voltage work
• OSHA 10 or 30 certified

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in crawlspaces, attics, and on ladders
