A-Line Staffing is now hiring 2 Long-term Care Closed Door Pharmacists in Norfolk, VA

Location: Norfolk, VA
Type: Full-time 40 hrs/week
Pay: $60–$65/hr (based on experience)
Work Setting: On-site (closed-door LTC pharmacy)

Schedule Options

• Shift 1: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• Shift 2: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
• Rotating weekends required

Position Overview

We’re hiring two LTC Closed Door Pharmacists to support a high-volume Long Term Care (post-acute) pharmacy operation in Norfolk, VA. In this role, you’ll oversee day-to-day dispensing and verification activities while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent service to partner facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify new and refill prescriptions for completeness and accuracy
• Review medication packaging/labeling (including emergency kits and IV medications )
• Maintain resident profiles including medication histories, clinical/lab data, and concurrent therapies (OTC/home remedies)
• Support controlled substance processes (ordering, receiving, documentation, storage) and assist with perpetual inventory for Schedule II medications
• Provide clinical support by responding to drug information questions and concerns
• Document communications with physicians, nurses, care teams, and patient/resident representatives as required
• Prepare and/or supervise sterile IV products (as applicable)
• Participate in evening/weekend/holiday coverage based on rotation and business needs
• Follow all applicable policies and regulations, including HIPAA
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Must Have

• Active Pharmacist license in good standing (state of practice)
• Bachelor’s degree or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy
• Ability to work flexible hours including rotating weekends
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment with high attention to detail

Preferred

• Experience in LTC or closed-door/high-volume production pharmacy
• Familiarity with FrameworkLTC
• Acute-care experience and/or IV admixture exposure
• Management/lead experience (nice to have)

Physical Requirements (Summary)

• Ability to sit/stand for extended periods (7–10 hours/day)
• Ability to lift up to ~30 lbs as needed
