About the Machine Operator:

The Machine Operator are responsible for fabricating ductile iron pipe as ordered by the customer using several types of machinery such as Lathes, threaders, drill presses, saws, along with sandblasting in other areas. This role is one of our most important and the quality of our products.

This position is responsible for following a quality of checks and safety standards while being attentive to detail validating each product. This role also works closely with other departments while understanding their process and the same quality of standards being upheld.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The machine operator enjoys working across all weather seasons, rather than a desk role. Someone that takes pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. What you'll be doing as the Machine Operator:

Our most successful Machine Operators are successful because they:

• Are able to read a tape measure successfully.
• Operate forklifts, hoist, and other equipment safely.
• Follow all safety, quality, and company policies.
• Working and aligning with other departments coordinating processes and ensure product accuracy every time.
• Maintain housekeeping, keeping all things cleaned and organized within your area.
• Making the effort to learn different tasks and operate varied machinery.
• Flexibility is key, to meet our customer needs.
• Quotas are met each day/week, each quota is very obtainable, and our team is behind you all the way!

Work and/or Education experience for the Machine Operator role:

• High school diploma or GED Preferred.
• Experience in an Industrial, warehouse, or heavy machinery environment is a plus!
• Ability to read documentation, measurements, and very attentive to details.
• STRONG safety awareness for yourself and others, no exceptions.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and/or heavy equipment - Certification is a plus!
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Distribution, fabrication, manufacturing, and/or construction experience a plus.

Physical and Work Environment

• Exposure to the outside elements, louder environment at times, dust, and heavy equipment in a Fabrication shop environment.
• Ability to bend and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50lbs or more with the proper Equipment.
• Required to wear the proper PPE including steel-toed boots, safety glasses and hearing protection where required.
• This position is an on-site role within our plant - (Not remote or Hybrid) located in Amherst, Virginia.
