Associate Controller

Job Title: Associate Controller

Location: Falls Church, VA (Primarily in-office role with flexible telework options)

Position Summary: Tesla Government Inc. is seeking an associate controller who is a highly self-motivated individual with superior oral and written communication skills. The successful candidate must have solid technology, analytical and management skills, and will be familiar with government contracts and possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Primary Responsibilities:

• Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions

• Partnering with business leaders to construct accurate forecasts and budgets to inform business planning and decision making

• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results

• Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements

• Preparing financial information for business development purposes (e.g., cost and expense projections)

• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes

• Evaluating accounting and internal control systems

• Coordinating activities of external auditors

• Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed

• Developing and monitoring business performance metrics

• Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance

• Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills:

• CPA or progressive accounting experience

• Working knowledge with hands-on experience with Procas accounting software or equivalent

• Experience with GAAP, FAS, CAS, DCAA

• Experience with CPFF, T&M and FFP contracts

• U.S. Government contracting experience

• P&L Statement, Balance sheet reconciliations, timesheets, payroll

• Self starter, analytical, well organized, team player, collaborative, exceptional oral and written skills

Qualifications:

• US Citizen eligible for security clearance

• 4 year college degree

Salary: $100,000 - $115,000. The starting salary will depend on the skills and qualifications of the successful candidate. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range.
