Electrician Handyperson

BAE Systems is seeking a versatile and skilled Electrician Handyperson to support our Facilities team. This role is critical in ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of our facility infrastructure. The successful candidate will blend specialized electrical expertise with a generalist's approach to maintenance, handling everything from complex wiring repairs to routine facility upkeep. This position requires a technician who is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and capable of operating effectively within a high-standard industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical Installation & Repair: Execute the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring and systems to ensure continuous facility operations.
• Diagnostic Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve electrical malfunctions and facility-related issues using a methodical approach to minimize operational downtime.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in strict adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and BAE Systems' rigorous electrical safety protocols.
• Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics to accurately implement repairs and facility upgrades.
• Tool Proficiency: Safely and efficiently utilize a wide range of power tools and diagnostic equipment required for electrical and general maintenance tasks.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Electrical Expertise: Proven proficiency in electricity and electrical wiring.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry-standard electrical safety practices.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
• Technical Literacy: Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Tool Usage: Comprehensive understanding of power tools and their safe application.
• Relevant Experience: Prior experience working in an industrial setting or a shipyard environment is highly preferred.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Ability to balance specialized electrical tasks with general handyperson duties.
• A proactive approach to preventative maintenance to avoid facility failures.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Pay Information

This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will determine your wages.
