Job Title: Journeyman Electrician

Job Description

This role combines hands-on industrial electrical work with strong leadership, safety, and communication responsibilities. You will lead and motivate crews in the field while testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning 480V power distribution equipment in data centers, industrial facilities, and commercial construction environments. You will configure and modify electrical systems for plant production, diagnose and repair low-voltage systems, and collaborate closely with owners, manufacturing representatives, and onsite project teams to ensure safe, efficient, and successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate field crews with a positive, team-focused approach that supports project goals and overall success.
  • Coordinate with owners and manufacturing representatives to test, troubleshoot, and commission 480V power distribution equipment.
  • Test, configure parameters, and modify electrical systems to support and optimize plant production.
  • Troubleshoot and repair 480V and 120V panels, including power wiring, control wiring, PLCs, relays, and power supplies.
  • Work extensively with low-voltage power distribution electrical systems and ensure they operate safely and reliably.
  • Read, interpret, and work from schematics, technical drawings, and manuals to identify issues and repair equipment accurately.
  • Install electrical systems in industrial, commercial, and new build environments, including conduit installation, wire pulling, and conduit bending.
  • Apply broad electrical and construction knowledge to support installation, maintenance, and service activities on industrial electrical projects.
  • Set and maintain a strong safety tone on site through active participation and involvement in the behavior-based safety program.
  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with onsite client representatives and allied trades.
  • Support construction schedules, including occasional weekend work, while adhering to safety-driven hour limits.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support project and team needs.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical service, maintenance, and installing new equipment on industrial electrical projects.
  • State-issued journeyman electrician’s license.
  • Strong hands-on experience with low-voltage power distribution electrical systems.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair 480V and 120V panels, including power wiring, control wiring, PLCs, relays, and power supplies.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
  • Experience with conduit installation, conduit bending, pulling wire, and industrial electrical installation.
  • Solid electrical and construction knowledge applicable to industrial, commercial, and new build environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate crews effectively.
  • Strong commitment to safety, including active engagement in behavior-based safety practices.
  • Effective communication skills to build productive relationships with onsite representatives and allied trades.
  • Desire and experience working on-site in industrial electrical project environments.

Work Environment

You will work primarily in data centers, industrial settings, commercial construction sites, and new build environments. The role involves hands-on work with power distribution equipment, electrical panels, conduit systems, and related industrial electrical infrastructure. Start times, break times, and work hours vary by site and project phase, with a typical workload of more than 40 hours but capped at 60 hours per week to support safety. Due to the nature of construction projects, occasional weekend work may be required. The environment is field-based and construction-oriented, requiring adherence to site safety protocols and appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment as dictated by each job site.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
