ER RN Job Details

• Location: Salem, Virginia 24153 – Roanoke Valley
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department (27 beds)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Job
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 09/08/2025 – End: 12/08/2025)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12 Hour Days (09:00–21:00)
• Weekend Requirement: Four weekend shifts per four-week period
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680–$1730

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Virginia or compact state
• 2-3 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• At least 2-3 previous travel nurse assignments completed
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Preferred: TNCC, ENPC, NRP, NIH Stroke certifications
• Proven ability to work in high acuity, fast-paced ERs (patient ratios 5:1)
• Strong teamwork, clinical support, and communication skills

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a busy emergency department
• Perform and assist with procedures: Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI), sepsis interventions, stroke protocol (tPA administration), central line placement, psychiatric patient care
• Manage patient transfers and EMTALA compliance
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including RNs and medics
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
• Follow unit guidelines and policies; wear navy blue or white scrubs
