Job Description
The Child Care Assistant Teacher plays a supportive role within a teaching team, primarily working with preschool, infant, and toddler age groups. This role involves assisting lead teachers in creating a safe and engaging classroom environment while supporting children’s daily activities and development.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being
- Assist with classroom activities and lesson implementation
- Prepare classrooms for daily activities and routines
- Monitor and address children’s behavior appropriately
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members
- Enforce safety guidelines and procedures
- Interact with parents to provide updates and support
- Collaborate with lead teachers and staff to support classroom goals
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in child care or early childhood education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong child supervision skills
- Effective communication abilities
- Patience and understanding with young children
- Knowledge of child development principles
