Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A clinical pharmacy opportunity is available for an Outpatient Infusion Staff Pharmacist at a cancer center in Fredericksburg, VA. This contract-to-hire position offers the chance to work in a specialized infusion setting with a multidisciplinary team focused on patient-centered cancer care.

Location:

• Fredericksburg, VA

Schedule:

• Typical work hours: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
• Pharmacy operational hours: 7:30 am to 4:30 pm
• No on-call or weekend coverage required

Responsibilities:

• Manage and dispense chemotherapy and other infusion medications in an outpatient oncology setting
• Collaborate closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and clinical staff to ensure safe and effective medication use
• Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for accurate order verification, preparation, and documentation
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and state regulations
• Provide expert counseling to patients regarding their medication therapy

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Valid pharmacist license in Virginia
• Previous experience in infusion pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or oncology/chemotherapy preferred
• Proficient in electronic medical record (EPIC) and automated dispensing systems such as Pyxis
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety in chemotherapy preparation and administration
