We are looking for a Kitchen Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for cooking and an understanding of food preparation techniques, as well as the ability to work with kitchen staff and ensure that all recipes are followed correctly.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of back-of-house operations for one of the winery’s kitchens
- Ensure all food is prepared, plated, and delivered in a timely, consistent, and high-quality manner.
- Maintain kitchen organization, cleanliness, and efficient workflow throughout service.
- Supervise, train, and schedule kitchen staff including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers.
- Provide ongoing coaching and development to ensure a productive, motivated, and skilled team.
- Promote a collaborative and respectful work environment in alignment with winery values.
- Work with the Executive Chef to track food usage, control waste, and maintain budgetary guidelines.
- Ensure all food items are properly labeled, dated, rotated, and stored safely.
- Uphold all health and safety standards; ensure kitchen and staff are in compliance with local and state regulations.
- Conduct regular kitchen walk-throughs to check for cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and safe food handling.
- Maintain sanitation logs and ensure timely deep cleaning of kitchen areas.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to implement menus, seasonal specials, and event prep plans.
- Communicate effectively with the Front-of-House and Events teams to coordinate service, timing, and guest needs.
