- Job-Specific Insights This is a Load Rating Engineer position in the Culpeper District Structure and Bridge Office. To be considered for this position, you must possess Load Rating experience. Eligible candidates may be offered a $5,000 Sign-on bonus!! The core responsibility of this position is to perform load-rating analyses for structures within a nine-county geographic area. Responsibilities include assessing bridge plans and sketches to determine mathematical models for bridge analysis for calculating posting values. This is an important function within the Department to ensure the safety of the bridges for vehicle loads. Bridge Load Rating is a federal requirement of the National Bridge Inspection program. Accurate bridge load ratings are important for statewide commerce and for emergency response agencies.
