The Opportunity

The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) , founded in 1965, is one of the oldest and largest professional organizations for industrial designers. IDSA is a national professional society for industrial designers who create and develop concepts and specifications that optimize the function, value and appearance of products and systems for the mutual benefit of the user and manufacturer.

The Manager of Digital Marketing plays a vital role in the curation, development and execution of digital marketing strategy and tactics that improve IDSA and IDSA Design Foundation's presence and brand position as a trusted resource, sought-after partner, and recognized authority within the global landscape. They are a skilled relationship builder who curates innovative, memorable, and impactful stakeholder communications.

This is a fully remote position, reporting to the Senior Director of Brand Strategy. This position can expect limited travel for IDSA events, special projects, industry conferences, and internal staff gatherings throughout the year.

The Manager is highly organized, communicative, and detail-oriented, thriving in fast-paced, high-performance environments. Short and long-term objectives are achieved through meticulous planning and hands-on execution, ensuring their approach is based upon extensive knowledge of marketing, design and operational excellence best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

  • Remains up to date on the latest digital marketing trends and technologies, incorporating modern platforms and innovative graphics into IDSA's digital marketing strategies, ensuring that the association remains at the forefront of digital marketing practices.
  • Demonstrates an action orientation toward calculated, data-driven, experimentation which pushes the boundaries of traditional approaches with new ideas and stakeholder experiences.
  • Interacts with internal and external stakeholders cultivating long-lasting, impactful relationships and partnerships.
  • Provides clear, meticulous, and sophisticated communication, working collaboratively and cross-functionally with other departments to achieve excellent results, consistently fostering trust and confidence.

Digital Marketing and Social Media Execution

  • Designs and implements creative, cutting-edge, integrated, multi-channel digital marketing and social media campaigns related to IDSA's strategic objectives, which may include engaging video while leveraging design influencers.
  • Manages IDSA's presence on social media platforms, focusing on visually driven storytelling to connect with industry professionals, shares thought leadership content, promotes IDSA's programs and initiatives, and member achievements.
  • Ensures IDSA's voice is professional, respected, and trusted in written and visual communications, successfully balancing the need to infuse energy with a casual approach that maintains authenticity in communications, particularly for segmented messaging based on audience personas.
  • Supports the Senior Director of Brand Strategy and department with content strategy, architecture, maintenance, and user experience of IDSA's website, microsites and other digital platforms.
  • Maintains IDSA's marketing calendar, tracking key program milestones, industry events and holidays to ensure proper planning, cadence of activities, and visibility for the organization.

Financial Management and Trends Analysis

  • Tracks and monitors campaign performance data, campaign budgets and program financial performance to identify areas of strength and concern, raises issues and offers solutions to the Senior Director and senior leadership that advise on effective strategies to achieve budget goals.
  • Prepares regular reports, analysis, and presentations on performance, impact and trends of digital marketing efforts with the aim of maintaining open communication, transparency and offering recommendations that continue to elevate IDSA's brand elevation goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or related areas.
  • Prior experience in nonprofit digital marketing and communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (e.g., Trello, Asana, etc.).
  • Experience editing and updating WordPress.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Marketing Professional (CMP)
  • Professional Certified Marketer (PCM)
  • Certified Digital Marketing Professional (CDMP)

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Starting annual salary range of $70,000 - $80,000
