Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Back-End Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and PostgreSQL . The ideal candidate will bring prior Freddie Mac (Freddie) domain knowledge , deep hands-on development experience, and the ability to design and implement scalable back-end systems. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, adherence to best engineering practices, and the ability to deliver high-quality, reliable, and maintainable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end services using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
  

• Work with PostgreSQL databases , including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  

• Write unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito to ensure code quality and reliability.
  

• Collaborate with front-end and full-stack teams, integrating with Angular-based applications (nice to have).
  

• Work with event-driven architectures; exposure to Kafka is a plus.
  

• Apply past Freddie Mac domain knowledge to ensure compliance, efficiency, and alignment with business requirements.
  

• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and contribute to best practices for software development.
  

• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize back-end services for performance and scalability.
  

• Work onsite (5 days/week), collaborating closely with stakeholders and development teams.
  

What You’ll Bring

• 7+ years of experience in back-end development with Java and enterprise-grade systems.
  

• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, PostgreSQL .
  

• Hands-on experience with JUnit and Mockito for testing.
  

• Freddie Mac domain knowledge (must-have).
  

• Familiarity with Angular (nice to have).
  

• Exposure to Kafka or similar messaging/event-driven platforms (nice to have).
  

• Strong understanding of back-end design principles, RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and database-driven applications.
  

• Proven ability to work onsite in a collaborative team environment.
  

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
