Job Description
Job Description
About the role
Imagine stepping onto a highly automated production floor where your decisions keep product flowing, quality high, and teammates safe. As our Automation Line Technician, you’ll operate and fine‑tune multiple machines at once, work alongside robotic systems, and document performance so every order ships on time and on spec.
What your shift looks like- Begin with a 5S walk-through, vehicle safety checks, and a safety huddle. You’ll report any incidents or near-misses and help drive our plant Safety Program.
- Start up and monitor several production machines, making real-time adjustments to reduce waste and prevent stoppages while maintaining overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Inspect product frequently. When defects appear, follow quality protocols, adjust settings, and record findings. You’ll chart results, summarize rework and scrap, and enter data into our quality database.
- Partner with teammates to recommend process changes and participate in continuous improvement projects that eliminate waste and lower costs.
- Support compliance with BRC Food Safety Policy, GMPs, HACCP principles, ISO 14001, and OSHA requirements in everything you do.
- Contribute to SOP and work-instruction development so the next run goes even smoother.
- Perform and accurately document daily/weekly/monthly maintenance tasks. Assist with trial runs (SMA’s), equipment installs, overhauls, and upgrades.
- Operate a forklift when needed and provide break relief across the line. Other responsibilities as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Preferred: 2+ years in high‑volume manufacturing.
- Clear written and verbal communication; collaborative teammate with strong organization, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Comfort with computers and basic math to read drawings, review specs and work instructions, and report line performance.
- Detail orientation, adaptability to changing initiatives, and working knowledge of measuring devices and inspection tools.
- Willingness to work 8‑ or 12‑hour schedules across days/off‑shifts, plus weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
You’ll thrive in a fast, loud production setting that can range from cold (<40°ree;F) to hot (>95°ree;F). Work may involve heights and non‑permit confined spaces with proper training. Expect proximity to moving machinery, energized equipment, pinch points, sharp edges, hot surfaces, and airborne metal dust/slivers. You’ll also work near hazardous and explosive chemicals—your PPE and safe work practices are non‑negotiable.
Schedule snapshotTypical operations run on 12‑hour shifts with an alternating 36/48‑hour weekly cadence.
