Summary
Join our team as a Shipping/Receiving associate! We’re looking for dedicated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Shipping/Receiving associate, you’ll play a crucial role in the accurate and timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. This position requires working with raw and/or cooked packaged products. Typical assignments may include Stagers, Loaders, Turret Truck Operators, Receivers, Receiving Lift Operators and Jockeys.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Unload and load trucks, ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently.
- Ability to accurately document and track inventory.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are securely packed and labeled correctly.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
Minimum Education
High School or equivalent not required but beneficial.
Experience Requirements
- At least 1 year of continuous work experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations.
- Previous experience in operation of forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
- Ability to pass forklift/pallet jack certification courses offered by Perdue
Experience Preferred
- 2+ years’ experience in a distribution warehouse preferred.
- Current Certification
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
When in a plant environment:
- Ability to tolerate exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- Ability to stand for an extended period and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs by reaching, bending, and pushing boxes.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection as required.
- May work in an environment with varying temperatures between 25 degrees and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May handle product varying in temperatures between 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
- Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
