Senior Infrastructure Engineer Build Engineer

Job Overview:

Client is seeking 5 experienced Build Engineers to join its Senior Infrastructure Engineering team. These roles are part of a critical initiative to build and automate infrastructure across hybrid environments - including on-premises, private cloud, and third-party colocation data centers.

As a Senior Build Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and automating infrastructure solutions in support of high-impact initiatives. You'll work cross-functionally with development, security, and networking teams while adopting SAFe Agile and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to ensure scalable, secure, and resilient systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead infrastructure build efforts supporting national IT projects and customer demands.
• Design, automate, and implement build solutions across hybrid environments (on-prem and hosted).
• Utilize ServiceNow and automation platforms to streamline infrastructure provisioning and change management.
• Build and maintain automated deployment and configuration tools for environments built on IBM AIX , Red Hat Enterprise Linux , and Windows Server .
• Develop detailed implementation plans covering system setup, connectivity, and operational readiness.
• Actively participate in Program Increment (PI) planning as part of SAFe Agile delivery squads.
• Create and maintain scripts/tools for provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with application, security, network, and engineering teams to ensure end-to-end solution delivery.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong experience building and deploying infrastructure in on-premises, private cloud, and colocation data centers.
• Proficient in networking fundamentals: IP addressing, VIPs, LTM flows, network segmentation, Cisco ACI , and zero-trust architecture .
• Hands-on expertise with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible , Terraform , PowerShell , and Shell scripting .
• Experience with technologies like VMware , GPFS , and storage LUNs for redundancy and performance.
• Proven ability to operate within Agile or SRE environments to modernize infrastructure delivery.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with SAFe Agile practices and participation in Agile ceremonies (PI planning, retrospectives).
• Deep understanding of operational support requirements and system lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of secure infrastructure design and regulatory compliance.
