Job Summary
We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Bio-Medical Equipment Technician. You will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the department by maintaining, cleaning, and preparing medical equipment and supplies to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
Job Description
- Stock supplies properly and check for expired items.
- Turn over the operating room between cases.
- Clean and dust machines and equipment such as sonograms and rapid infusers regularly.
- Respond promptly to requests for assistance from nurses, anesthesiologists, and other staff members.
- Communicate effectively with all team members to ensure smooth workflow and coordination.
- Use a department-issued cellphone and beeper to respond to urgent needs and maintain communication during breaks or lunch.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills Required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in biomedical or medical equipment repair and maintenance
- Three (3) years of experience servicing a broad range of clinical/patient care equipment, devices, and network medical systems in a hospital or health care facility
- Three (3) years of satisfactory, full-time, paid experience as a Medical Equipment Specialist or equivalent type of experience.
- A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education/Training/Certifications
- High school diploma or its educational equivalent, preferably including one (1) year in electronic equipment repair, shop, general science, physics and completion of a course in electronic equipment repair and medical equipment repair in vocational, associate degree, trade or armed service school. And
- Five (5) years of satisfactory, full-time, paid experience as a Medical Equipment Repair Technician for installation, repair and preventive maintenance of medical equipment, three (3) years of which must have been in a responsible supervisory or administrative capacity. or
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in Biomedical Technology, Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology or related discipline
Additional Requirements
- Shift: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Pay rate
- $30.00 per hour
