Senior DevSecOps Engineer


FedTec is seeking a highly skilled Senior DevSecOps Engineer with proven experience in Department of Defense (DoD) software factories and toolchains. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of secure software development practices, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) in classified and unclassified environments, and modern cybersecurity frameworks. This role is critical to enabling secure, automated, and compliant software delivery in alignment with DoD standards and mission requirements.

Job Type : Full-time

Responsibilities :

• Configure and integrate tools such as GitLab/GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins, Nexus/Artifactory, SonarQube, Kubernetes, and container scanning tools.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and compliance checks using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, Helm, etc.).
• Expereince with Kubernetes and Helm charts is must.
• Implement and enforce zero-trust security principles within development pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, STIGs, NIST 800-53/171, CMMC).
• Perform vulnerability management and automated security scanning across environments.
• Support cATO process through the software delivery chain
• Partner with development teams, system engineers, and cybersecurity personnel to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable systems.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers on DevSecOps and cybersecurity practices.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of experience in DevOps/DevSecOps roles with increasing responsibility.
• Hands-on experience working in DoD-accredited software factories is a MUST. (e.g., Platform One, Kessel Run, LevelUP, Black Pearl).
• Strong knowledge of cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) and Kubernetes orchestration is a must .
• Expertise with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Podman), and automated testing frameworks.
• In-depth understanding of DoD cybersecurity policies and practices , including RMF and STIG hardening.
• Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance .
