Maintenance Technician – Job Description

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repairs on industrial machinery and equipment. This role supports safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations by identifying issues early, executing preventative maintenance tasks, and assisting with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC‑related work. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on problem solver with strong technical aptitude and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical issues on machinery and equipment.
• Perform basic mechanical repairs using general maintenance tools, techniques, and best practices.
• Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance activities, including lubrication, alignment, adjustment, and cleaning of equipment.
• Perform basic welding tasks to support repair and fabrication of mechanical components.
• Assist with work involving electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, combustion, and PLC systems as required.
• Read, interpret, and apply information from schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Support mechanics, operators, and other maintenance personnel in multi‑tasking environments.
• Monitor equipment condition and optimize the use of planned outages to minimize downtime.

Experience Level

Intermediate – 2 to 5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance preferred.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chesterfield, VA.

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $34.00/hr.
