Salary: $85,000–$145,000 + Bonus + ESOP

Job Overview

Join an award-winning, employee-owned (ESOP) civil engineering firm as a Senior Professional Land Surveyor / Survey Manager . Lead multiple field and office teams delivering boundary, topographic, SUE, and transportation surveys for VDOT, DOT, and municipal roadway projects . This role blends technical expertise, team leadership, client management, and business development.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage 2+ survey field crews and office staff on DOT and transportation projects
• Oversee boundary, topographic, SUE, and roadway surveys
• Prepare and review plats, legal descriptions, calculations, and survey deliverables
• Ensure QA/QC, schedules, budgets, and invoicing compliance
• Serve as the client's point of contact and attend project/industry meetings
• Mentor survey staff and support proposals and pursuit strategies

Required Qualifications

• Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license – Virginia required
• 8+ years progressive land surveying experience ( DOT/roadway projects required )
• Experience leading multiple field crews
• Proficient in MicroStation, OpenRoads, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local survey regulations
• Valid driver's license and U.S. work authorization

Preferred Qualifications

• Multistate PLS licensure
• SUE experience
• Aerial, LiDAR, or sUAS exposure
